"People always say that pregnant women have a glow. I say it's because we're sweating to death" -Jessica Simpson
While having a baby brings joy and love to the mind, pregnancy also comes with some hardships to the body. When I was pregnant with my twin boys there were days that I honestly felt like dying. Luckily for us, there are countless numbers of resources to help combat the not-so-fun side of pregnancy! There are also plenty of products that can help you ease the ailments of pregnancy, so you can enjoy the experience. Today, we’ll be taking a look at 4 of my favorite solutions on the market for whatever you might be experiencing, from easing morning sickness to helping you sleep, let’s get you feeling better!

1. Ease Back and Abdomen Pain with a Belly Support Band
If you’re experiencing back or lower abdomen pain, you don’t have to just live with it! Get yourself some help, with a belly support band! It will help alleviate your pain and also support muscle structure and suggest good posture in general. I tried both the NeoTech Care Pregnancy Support Maternity Belt and the AZMED Maternity Belt and found the Neotech band to be more comfortable due to the larger band in the back. I honestly didn't use a band during my first pregnancy with my little girl, but definitely got a lot of use out of these with my twins. Pretty much every day from 5-months on I didn't leave the house without it.
2. Combat Morning Sickness with All Things Ginger
Ginger has long been known to be a weapon against nausea and it’s also safe to consume during pregnancy. It can however cause heartburn or indigestion for some people, so that’s worth keeping in mind. Candied Ginger, flavored hard candies, or cut ginger root in warm water, anything with real ginger in it will help ease your symptoms. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as qualities that help soothe blood pressure. These two effects work in tandem to help reduce your nausea and settle your stomach, so you can enjoy your day more. These Individually Wrapped Drops with Ginger, Lemon, Spearmint, Honey and B6 have over 7k reviews and are said to relieve morning sickness. I did not have a chance to try them myself so if anyone does give these a try, let me know how they work!
3. Pregnancy Pillows for a More Comfortable Sleep
Sleep can be one of the biggest challenges of your pregnancy. There are certain positions that are taken completely off the table. However, the boom of pregnancy pillows allows you to get a comfortable night’s sleep that will ensure security for you and your baby. Check out products like the Leachco Snoogle Original Body Pillow or PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow, which conform to the shape of your body. You want to make sure that your belly is always supported, while keeping you in a comfortable position for sleeping. Instead of stacking pillows from around the house to try to provide support, go with a product that’s custom-made to help you sleep easier. No matter what position you typically sleep in, these pillows are right for you and will allow you to rest easier than ever.
4. Oils and Balms
Essential oils and various skincare products can be a boon to your well-being during pregnancy. From fixing headaches, to keeping skin happy, healthy, and most importantly.. more resistant to stretch marks. Peppermint oil is said to tackle everything from headaches to nausea to swelling. Shea butter or similar products will help keep your skin moisturized and supple, which will be helpful as your body grows to support your baby. My two favorites were: plain ole' Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and Bio-Oil Skincare Oil. I honestly wear by the Bio-Oil, so much so, that I still use it as part of my skin care routine every day 2 years after giving birth to my boys. It makes my skin feel so healthy and it really helped keep it tight and prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.
Each individual experience is unique, and you’ll be tackling your symptoms as they come, so it can be tough to cover all bases when planning for your pregnancy struggles. It's safe to assume that you'll be wanting to use some skin oils and a pregnancy pillow at some point, but other problems might be best to tackle as they present themself. There are plenty of products on the market to help you stay well through the pregnancy journey, just stick to natural ingredients when possible and try your best to stay stress free and ENJOY!
